Overview

• Julio César "N", an SSC officer, was linked to proceedings for aggravated homicide after a three-hour hearing at Reclusorio Oriente on August 26.
• Luis Arturo "N", the officer who was also detained over the confrontation, was not linked to a case for abuse of authority and was released.
• The shooting followed a confrontation at a preventive checkpoint at avenida Galindo y Villa near Fray Servando Teresa de Mier in Jardín Balbuena, where 21-year-old Cristopher was struck by a police round and later died in a hospital.
• Authorities detained the officer who fired, secured his service weapon, and opened criminal file CI-FIEDH/2/UI-1 C/D/00322/08-2025 as the SSC continues an internal inquiry.
• Amnesty International Mexico called for the investigation to follow the Minnesota Protocol and urged a review of the National Law on the Use of Force.
