Judge in Valencia Dana Probe Admits Pradas Audio, Seeks Cuenca’s Messages and Sets New Witness Dates

The new steps aim to clarify who authorized or blocked confinement orders during the Oct. 29 storm response.

Overview

  • The court has incorporated a 20:15 audio from ex-consellera Salomé Pradas in which she tells José Manuel Cuenca they will decree confinement in Ribera Alta, Ribera Baja, Horta Sud and Hoya de Buñol.
  • The judge re-cited Cuenca for Friday to insert his current SIM into the official iPhone he returned reset to factory settings so DGTIC technicians can attempt to access his 29 October WhatsApp messages with then-president Carlos Mazón.
  • An official DGTIC report confirms the device Cuenca returned had all applications and data erased and now shows factory-start configuration.
  • Eight witness testimonies have been scheduled for late January and February, including Abogacía officials, the regional emergencies director, the SGISE head, Mazón’s driver and close advisers, to reconstruct decision-making and communications that evening.
  • An Abogacía de la Generalitat report records only two short calls and says a confinement would have legal basis, contradicting parts of Cuenca’s account, while separately Koldo García’s defense filed a CGPJ complaint alleging lawfare and the Supreme Court named the seven-judge panel for the Ábalos case.
