Overview

  • Aaron Judge led all Major Leaguers in fan voting and will start in right field for the American League on July 15.
  • Left-hander Max Fried and infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. were officially named to the AL All-Star roster in MLB’s July 6 announcement.
  • Fried signed an eight-year, $218 million contract in December and has posted an 11-2 record with a 2.27 ERA through 19 starts.
  • Chisholm earned his second All-Star nod after hitting .245/.341/.500 with 15 home runs, including a .308/.380/.589 surge since June 3.
  • As AL manager, Yankees skipper Aaron Boone must decide whether Fried will open the midsummer exhibition at his former home stadium.
