Judge Dismisses Trump Lawsuit Against NY Times Over Report on His Taxes, Orders Ex-President to Pay Fees

A New York judge threw out Donald Trump's $100 million lawsuit against The New York Times over its Pulitzer Prize-winning 2018 report on his finances.
The judge ruled that the Times' reporting was protected by the First Amendment and ordered Trump to pay the newspaper's legal fees.
Trump had accused the Times of "tortiously breaching" his rights by obtaining confidential records from his niece Mary Trump.
The judge did not rule on Trump's claims against his niece, who has also asked for her portion of the suit to be dismissed.
Trump's suit was the latest in a long history of legal threats against media organizations that he says publish unflattering stories about him.
