Judge Denies Pretrial Release for 18-Year-Old Accused in 113 MPH Villa Park Chase

Prosecutors describe an alleged punch to a uniformed officer following a stop-stick end to the pursuit.

Overview

  • Aizik Davila, 18, is charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and misdemeanor resisting.
  • Prosecutors say a Villa Park officer tried to stop a 2021 Hyundai Palisade around 3:49 a.m. on Nov. 2 before the SUV accelerated to about 113 mph in a 30 mph zone.
  • Officers disabled the vehicle with stop sticks near Westmore Avenue and pinned the driver’s door, after which Davila and three passengers ran from the car.
  • During a foot chase, Davila allegedly punched a uniformed officer twice before a second officer made the arrest, and officials said the officer was not seriously injured.
  • A judge ordered Davila detained before trial with a Dec. 1 court date, and authorities have not identified the three passengers or explained the earlier flight from Cicero police.
