Judge Denies Media Giants' Motion to Dismiss FuboTV Antitrust Lawsuit

U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett denied motions by Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery to dismiss FuboTV's antitrust lawsuit over the planned Venu Sports streaming service.
The lawsuit alleges that the proposed platform, which would consolidate live sports content from major networks, would harm competition and lead to higher consumer prices.
FuboTV secured a preliminary injunction in August 2024, temporarily blocking the launch of Venu Sports, which was initially planned for fall 2024 at $42.99 per month.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit will hold a hearing on January 6, 2025, to review the injunction, with a decision expected in the following weeks or months.
A trial is scheduled for October 2025, but the timeline could change if the parties settle or appeals result in further rulings before the trial begins.
