Jubilee Line Hit by Severe Delays as London Transport Disruptions Persist

Operators are diverting passengers using cross-ticketing to ease the morning commute.

Overview

  • Transport for London reports severe delays across the Jubilee line due to a signal failure at Westminster, with tickets accepted on buses, Thameslink, Southeastern, C2C, the DLR, the Elizabeth line and the Mildmay line.
  • The Central line has planned part-closures between Hainault and Newbury Park and between Hainault and Woodford, which remain in place through Sunday, August 31.
  • On Tuesday, traffic on the M25 anti-clockwise between Junctions 25 and 24 was brought to a standstill by a lorry fire, with National Highways warning of about 60 minutes of delays and seven miles of congestion.
  • The Victoria line was partially suspended between Victoria and Brixton on Tuesday because of a signal failure at Vauxhall, with tickets accepted on buses and partner rail as severe delays continued on the rest of the line.
  • Services between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport faced delays from overrunning engineering work and a signalling fault, with Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink warning of cancellations, diversions and delays of up to 30 minutes until around 11:00.
