• On August 4 Mollner took to Twitter to reveal he’d crafted a horror character expressly for Meryl Streep.
• He characterized the role as “nasty, passionate” and asserted it would mark a departure from her previous work.
• Streep’s only substantial horror credits date back to 1982’s Still of the Night and 1992’s Death Becomes Her.
• Mollner has gained recognition for directing Strange Darling (2023) and writing this year’s Stephen King adaptation The Long Walk.
