JSW MG Motor Surpasses 100,000 EV Sales in India

A Windsor-fueled surge has shifted the brand’s sales mix heavily to electric, with a reported market share near 35 percent.

Overview

  • JSW MG says it is only the second automaker in India to cross the 1 lakh cumulative EV mark, after Tata Motors reached 100,000 in August 2023 and 200,000 in February 2025.
  • EV deliveries totaled 26,640 units in April–September 2025, a 220 percent increase over the same period a year earlier.
  • The Windsor, launched in September 2024, led the upswing and was India’s best-selling EV for ten straight months, with a longer-range Windsor Pro added in May 2025.
  • Electric models now contribute over 70 percent of the company’s monthly sales, according to JSW MG.
  • MG is expanding its EV ecosystem through the MG Charge goal of 1,000 chargers in 1,000 days and Project Revive for battery recycling, alongside premium MG Select entries such as the Cyberster and M9, with Battery-as-a-Service available on the Windsor lineup.
