- District 6 Officers Moran and Duggar answered a Dec. 11 call about a dog in distress along the Ribault River near Grand Street.
- The French bulldog was found cold and stranded on a small marshy island, unable to return on its own.
- Officers enlisted two nearby fishermen, who used their boat to retrieve the dog and bring it safely to shore.
- The officers delivered the dog to Animal Care & Protective Services, where staff found no microchip and gave him the name Porky.
