A teenager died in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night in Arlington, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

  • Andre Myers, 54, was arrested Wednesday and charged with leaving the scene of a crash without rendering aid involving a death.
  • Investigators found Myers asleep in his truck after tracking him through an ankle monitor he was wearing while out on bond for felony charges.
  • The victim was identified by family as 13-year-old Genesis Webber, who was struck on the sidewalk along Arlington Road near the Mathews Bridge between 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.
  • JSO says the vehicle jumped a curb, hit Webber, and crashed through a chain-link fence before the driver left without reporting the crash or helping her.
