Overview
- The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation announced that Journey Beyond will acquire Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia's operational assets, including Ayers Rock Resort and the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre.
- Land and buildings at Yulara and Mossman Gorge will be transferred to the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara and Kuku Yalanji Traditional Owners.
- Journey Beyond will lease the sites on 90- and 10-year terms, paying rent to the respective communities under the new arrangement.
- ILSC chief executive Joe Morrison says the agreement is expected to deliver more than $500 million in benefits, including jobs, education and support for Anangu enterprises.
- Completion is targeted for early 2026, and Journey Beyond is owned by New York-based private equity firm Crestview Partners.
