Journalist Richard Cohen, Husband of Meredith Vieira, Dies at 76

Cohen, a three-time Emmy-winning journalist and author, passed away on Christmas Eve after a decades-long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Richard Cohen, a former senior producer for CBS News and CNN, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at 25 and lived with the disease for over 50 years.
He and Meredith Vieira were married for 38 years, having met while working at CBS Evening News in the early 1980s.
Cohen was also a two-time cancer survivor and the author of several books, including 'Blindsided' and 'Chasing Hope.'
Their three children and Vieira were by Cohen's side at the time of his death, which was announced on the Today show by Hoda Kotb.
Vieira has spoken openly about their partnership, emphasizing humor, resilience, and mutual support in navigating Cohen's health challenges.
