Journalist Nicolás Wiñazki Robbed at Hurlingham Worksite as Police Track Stolen Getaway Car

Police say the escape car was a stolen Peugeot 308 now under review through security‑camera traces.

Overview

  • Two masked men armed with guns confronted Wiñazki around 7:30 a.m. Monday at a house under renovation in Parque Johnston, Hurlingham.
  • Wiñazki handed over about US$200 and ARS 60,000 plus a backpack, a laptop and a Nintendo Switch, and the thieves left his phone after he said he was a journalist.
  • He told the intruders that painters were about to arrive, a warning after which the suspects fled, and he was not physically injured.
  • The case is being handled by prosecutor Nicolás Filippini of UFI No. 8 in Morón with Buenos Aires provincial police and the 1st precinct in Hurlingham.
  • Investigators say the suspects escaped in a black Peugeot 308 that was stolen days earlier in Morón and fled via Acceso Oeste, with camera analysis ongoing and no arrests reported.
