Journalist Denies Stalking Charges Involving George Osborne and Wife

Lydia Suffield, 27, faces allegations of a year-long campaign of harassment against the former UK finance minister and his spouse, Thea Rogers.

Lydia Suffield, a freelance journalist, is accused of stalking George Osborne and his wife, Thea Rogers, between June 2022 and July 2023.
Prosecutors allege Suffield sent emails, Instagram messages, and false child welfare referrals to the NSPCC, causing significant distress to the couple.
The charges also include claims that Suffield contacted Osborne and Rogers' friends, family, and colleagues, and sent a gift reportedly intended for their children.
Osborne and Rogers reportedly felt compelled to increase security around their July 2023 wedding due to the alleged harassment.
Suffield, who pleaded not guilty to two counts of stalking causing serious alarm or distress, has been granted bail and is scheduled for a plea and trial preparation hearing on January 6 at Isleworth Crown Court.
