Overview
- Union Minister Pralhad Joshi chaired a project review at Rail Soudha in Hubballi with South Western Railway chief Mukul Saran Mathur and senior state and local officials.
- SWR presented an around ₹400 crore redevelopment plan for Hubballi station, with a new design focused on upgraded entrances, better use of circulating space and added commercial potential.
- The 163 km Hubballi–Ankola line, estimated at about ₹17,000 crore, has been modified to meet Environment Ministry guidelines and the proposal has been submitted, with approval now awaited.
- Officials said the Gadag–Yalvigi new line DPR is slated for submission to the Railway Board by December 2025.
- Progress under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at Alnavar (₹17.2 crore), Badami (₹15.1 crore), Koppal (₹21.14 crore) and Bantwal (₹26.18 crore) was reviewed, as Joshi pledged central support to resolve bottlenecks.
