Overview

  • Within 20 hours of recording the live EP and film Alive in the Catacombs in Paris, Homme was flown back to the US for emergency surgery and spent seven months bedridden during his recovery.
  • Queens of the Stone Age resumed live shows across Europe and the UK in summer 2025, marking Homme’s return to the stage.
  • The band’s North American Catacombs Tour will kick off on October 2 at Chicago Theatre and wrap on November 21 in New Orleans.
  • Homme said doctors initially warned his recovery could take up to two years, a prognosis that gave him time to reflect and reshape his creative approach.
  • He plans to work on new Queens of the Stone Age material alongside another Eagles of Death Metal record, additional Desert Sessions and possibly a new band.
