Overview
- The Carlton board met on Monday and ratified a recommendation to appoint Josh Fraser as the club’s permanent senior coach with a formal announcement expected imminently.
- Fraser earned the role after an extraordinary run as interim coach that produced 10 wins and a draw from 13 matches and clinched a wildcard finals spot with Sunday’s draw against the Western Bulldogs.
- Club sources say final details of a multi-year deal are being completed and that Fraser is likely to sign a contract believed to be around three years in length.
- Fraser entered and won a short internal process against external candidates including Jaymie Graham, Corey Enright, James Kelly and Daniel Giansiracusa after agreeing to present to the selection panel.
- The appointment ends a search launched when Michael Voss left in May and gives Carlton immediate coaching stability ahead of the final home-and-away game and a wildcard finals debut under Fraser.
