Overview

• The film is in development with Josephine Decker attached to direct and Stacey Gregg to write the screenplay.
• Production partners include ie: entertainment, which produced the 2022 documentary Nothing Compares, alongside Nine Daughters and See-Saw Films led by producers Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Neil Chordia.
• BBC Film will finance the biopic, providing public funding support from the United Kingdom.
• The project aims to dramatize O’Connor’s Dublin upbringing, rise to fame through “Nothing Compares 2 U” and her activism against abuses by the Catholic Church and Irish state.
• Discussions on the film began in 2022, and no casting choices, shooting schedule or release date have been disclosed.
