Jorge Martin Has Clavicle Surgery, Ruled Out of Indonesian GP as Aprilia Skips Replacement

Team leaders say the Asia tour is unlikely, pending medical clearance.

Overview

  • Surgeons at Barcelona’s Hospital Universitari Dexeus, led by Dr. Xavier Mir, successfully repositioned and fixed Martin’s fractured right clavicle.
  • Martin sustained the displaced break in the Motegi sprint after carrying too much speed into Turn 1 from 17th on the grid and colliding with teammate Marco Bezzecchi.
  • Aprilia confirmed he will not race at Mandalika and, under regulations allowing non-replacement for recent injuries, will not name a stand-in, leaving Bezzecchi as the sole factory rider.
  • CEO Massimo Rivola indicated he likely misses the full Asia swing, with a potential Portimao–Valencia return dependent on healing and medical sign-off.
  • In a separate setback for the manufacturer, Trackhouse’s Ai Ogura will also sit out Mandalika due to ongoing wrist issues, leaving only Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez to represent Aprilia in Indonesia.
