Jorge Martin Achieves Fifth Consecutive Sprint Win and Smashes Lap Record at Thailand Grand Prix

Title-Challenger Martin Closes Gap on Championship Leader Francesco Bagnaia to Just 18 Points with Dominant Performance at Thailand Grand Prix

  • Jorge Martin of Prima Pramac Racing led from the start to win his fifth consecutive sprint of the MotoGP season at the Thailand Grand Prix, reducing the gap to championship leader Francesco Bagnaia to 18 points.
  • Martin smashed the lap record at the Thailand Grand Prix, securing pole position for the race. His record-breaking lap was completed in 1 minute and 29.287 seconds.
  • In a post-race interview, Martin said he initially tried to conserve tyres but later decided to pull away when he saw competitors Brad Binder and Luca Marini catching up.
  • Despite starting in sixth position, Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati finished in seventh place. Bagnaia has a lead of 18 points over Martin in the championship standings.
  • Brad Binder of KTM finished second at the Thailand Grand Prix, less than a second behind Martin. This is consistent with Binder's success in sprints this season, with five previous podiums.
