Jordan Stolz Shatters 1000m Speedskating World Record

Stolz, 19, clocked 1:05.37 at the Utah Olympic Oval, breaking the previous record set by Russia's Pavel Kulizhnikov in 2020.

19-year-old Jordan Stolz set a new world record in men's 1000m speedskating, clocking in at 1min 5.37secs at the Utah Olympic Oval during a World Cup race.
He broke the previous record of 1:05.69 set by Russia's Pavel Kulizhnikov at the same venue in 2020.
Stolz is the first American to set a world speedskating record in an individual event since Brittany Bowe in the women's 1000m in March 2019.
The last U.S. man to break an individual world record was Shani Davis in the 1500m in December 2009, also in Utah.
Last year, Stolz won world crowns at 500, 1000 and 1500 meters, becoming the first man to win three individual titles at a single world championship.
