Jordan Spieth Replaces Rory McIlroy on PGA Tour Policy Board
Spieth's selection, effective immediately, follows McIlroy's resignation over time commitment and controversial Saudi agreement.
- Jordan Spieth has been elected to serve the remainder of Rory McIlroy's term as a player director on the PGA Tour's policy board, which runs through the end of 2024.
- McIlroy resigned last week, citing the time commitment and the PGA Tour's controversial agreement with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and the DP World Tour as factors.
- Spieth's selection was voted on by the five other player directors: Tiger Woods, Patrick Cantlay, Charley Hoffman, Peter Malnati and Webb Simpson.
- Spieth, 30, is a 13-time winner on the PGA Tour with major victories at the Masters (2015), U.S. Open (2015) and the Open Championship (2017).
- McIlroy is expected to next appear at a TGL event in early January, while Spieth will next play at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, scheduled for Nov. 30-Dec. 3.
