Jonathan Smith Brings Oregon State Staff to Michigan State

Smith's first staff includes several former colleagues, as Oregon State promotes Trent Bray to head coach.

Jonathan Smith, recently hired as Michigan State's head coach, is bringing much of his previous staff from Oregon State with him.
Smith's first staff at Michigan State will include offensive coordinator Brian Lindgren, assistant head coach Keith Bhonapha, and several others with ties to him and the Beavers.
Following Smith's departure, Oregon State promoted defensive coordinator Trent Bray to head coach.
Smith led Oregon State to an 8-4 record this season and to 10 wins last year, sharing Pac-12 Coach of the Year honors in 2022.
Michigan State signed Smith to a seven-year deal worth $7.25 million in his first season, with a contract that gives him a raise of $100,000 each year.
