Jonathan Majors Assault Trial Begins: Jury Selected, Accuser's Arrest Allowed as Evidence

Marvel actor faces up to a year in prison if convicted; opening statements to commence on Monday.

Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in Marvel’s 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' and the sports drama 'Creed III,' is on trial for assault and harassment charges stemming from an incident in March with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Jabbari was also arrested in connection with the case, but the Manhattan District Attorney’s office declined to prosecute her case, stating it 'lacks prosecutorial merit.'
Judge Michael Gaffey has ruled that Jabbari’s arrest will be allowed as evidence in the trial, while also sealing potentially prejudicial information against Majors.
The jury for the trial has been selected, consisting of six jurors and two alternates. Opening statements are expected to take place on Monday.
Majors has pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted, he could face up to a year in prison.
