A man was charged with a felony after hitting and injuring a 5-year-old girl and her mother in San Francisco, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced Friday.

  • On May 24 at about 6:14 p.m., Lam turned left onto 31st Avenue and struck a 5-year-old girl riding her bike in a crosswalk at Clement Street
  • Lam fled the scene in a rented Jeep Wagoneer SUV and was arrested by San Francisco police on June 1
  • District Attorney Brooke Jenkins filed one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury against Lam on June 6
  • Lam posted $100,000 bail the following day and is currently out of custody awaiting trial
  • The 5-year-old victim was hospitalized with serious injuries and remained in critical condition after the collision
