• The shooting occurred late on June 1 as Jonathan Joss and his husband checked mail at their former San Antonio home.
• Joss’s husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, said they faced more than two years of homophobic threats and that their previous residence was even set on fire.
• According to de Gonzales, Joss pushed him out of harm’s way before the gunman opened fire, ultimately saving his life.
