Phoenix to Reprise Role in 'Joker: Folie à Deux', Keoghan Expresses Interest in 'The Batman II'

Barry Keoghan and Joaquin Phoenix, both actors who have portrayed the Joker in different Batman films, met at the 2024 Golden Globes.
Phoenix won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the Joker in the 2019 film 'Joker'. He is set to reprise his role in the upcoming sequel, 'Joker: Folie à Deux', which also stars Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
Keoghan was cast as the Joker in the 2022 film 'The Batman', though his scene was released on YouTube rather than included in the film. He expressed interest in reprising the role in 'The Batman II'.
'Joker: Folie à Deux' is set to be DC's sole live-action feature film in 2024, with much of the film taking place inside Arkham Asylum.
Other actors who have portrayed the Joker, including Jared Leto and the late Heath Ledger, were also remembered at the Golden Globes.
