Joint Jharkhand Raids Destroy 14 IEDs and Recover Two Maoist Bodies

Overview

  • A joint team from Jharkhand Police, Jaguar unit and the CRPF 60th Battalion recovered and destroyed 14 IEDs weighing about 2 kg each along the Toklo-Kuchai forest boundary.
  • Bomb disposal squads safely neutralized the devices and destroyed accompanying explosives including handmade grenades, ammonium nitrate powder and steel containers.
  • In a Chaibasa raid, CRPF jawan Praneshwar of the 209th Battalion was killed in an exchange of fire and forces recovered two Maoist bodies including sub-zonal commander Sehdev Majhi.
  • Security teams seized a Maoist tent and an AK-47 with magazines during the Chaibasa operation.
  • Authorities say roughly 85–90 Maoist cadres remain holed up in Saranda jungles and plan further intelligence-led sweeps to dismantle rebel networks.
