Overview
- Operation White Veil ran from June 5 to 7 and involved the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Customs, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police.
- Authorities confiscated 7,755.75 grams of heroin and 6,736 grams of opium with a combined value of approximately Rs 55.52 crore.
- Five suspects were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act following pursuits in Behiang Village, Thadou Veng and at the Bualkot check gate.
- Investigators also seized Rs 35.63 lakh in cash, two Baofeng walkie-talkies and a Maruti Suzuki Eeco van during the raids.
- Preliminary findings confirm the seized narcotics were smuggled from Myanmar across the porous Indo-Myanmar forest border.
