Overview

  • Johnson Health Tech Trading initiated the recall after more than 300 reports of weight plates dislodging during workouts led to over 111 injuries including concussions and broken toes.
  • The voluntary action covers about 3.7 million BowFlex adjustable dumbbells of models 552 (52.5-pound) and 1090 (90-pound), some sold under the former Nautilus name.
  • Consumers must cease use of recalled dumbbells immediately and check model and serial numbers printed on a sticker beneath the molded plastic tray to confirm eligibility.
  • Units were sold at Johnson Fitness & Wellness, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Best Buy and online at Bowflex.com and Amazon.com.
  • Consumers can claim full refunds or replacement sets through Johnson Health Tech Trading or receive prorated vouchers and a one-year digital fitness membership depending on where they originally purchased their dumbbells.
