Johnny Washington Named Los Angeles Angels' Hitting Coach

The former assistant hitting coach for the Chicago Cubs joins the Angels' new coaching staff led by manager Ron Washington.

Johnny Washington, previously assistant hitting coach for the Chicago Cubs, has been named the Los Angeles Angels' hitting coach.
Washington, a Los Angeles-area native, has also coached in the systems of the Dodgers and the Padres.
He served as San Diego's first-base coach in 2017 and the Padres' hitting coach in 2019.
In 2021, Washington spent the season coaching in South Korea's top league.
The Angels' new coaching staff, led by manager Ron Washington, also includes Eric Young Sr. as third-base coach, Bo Porter as first-base coach, Jerry Narron as major league catching coach and Ryan Goins as the infield coach.
