Johnny Depp has completed directing 'Modi', a biopic of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani, marking his first directorial effort in over two decades.
The film stars Al Pacino, who plays real-life French art collector Maurice Gangnat, and is based on Dennis McIntyre’s play Modigliani.
'Modi' follows the life of Modigliani over a 48-hour period in war-torn Paris during World War One, capturing a chaotic series of events as he contemplates ending his career and leaving the city.
The film is produced by Depp’s European production company, IN.2 Films, and producer Barry Navidi.
This is Depp's first major project after his 2022 legal victory over Amber Heard.
