Overview
- Paramount released the second official trailer Thursday, showing Depp heavily made up as Ebenezer Scrooge and brief, supernatural glimpses of the three spirits that drive the story’s visions of past, present and future.
- Ti West directs a darker, horror-inflected adaptation that expands Scrooge’s backstory while keeping Charles Dickens’s core redemption arc intact.
- The principal cast confirmed by Paramount includes Ian McKellen as Jacob Marley, Andrea Riseborough, Tramell Tillman, Rupert Grint, Sam Claflin and Daisy Ridley.
- Paramount will distribute the film with release dates set for November 12 in Latin America and November 13 in the United States and Canada.
- The project marks a high-profile return to a major U.S. studio for Depp after years of reduced big-studio roles and follows summer marketing moves such as a Comic-Con activation that seeded early publicity.
