Overview
- In July 2025 an independent review found 45 misconduct claims against Gregg Wallace to be justified and the BBC removed him from MasterChef.
- Torode left the franchise shortly after Wallace when an inquiry upheld an allegation that he used an offensive racist term in relation to a 2019 wrap‑party incident.
- In a September 15, 2026 interview Torode described the period around the firings as "stressful" and said he no longer communicates with Wallace because their relationship was only professional.
- Torode confirmed he now presents a YouTube cooking series with his wife, Lisa Faulkner, and said he does not currently watch the BBC series presented by Grace Dent and Anna Haugh.
- Broadly, the probes have reshaped MasterChef's public face and left the BBC running the show with new hosts while former presenters deal with reputational and personal fallout.
