John Sterling May Return to Yankees Radio Booth for Playoffs

The legendary announcer is in discussions about calling postseason games after retiring earlier this year.

Sterling, 86, will speak with Audacy New York's president about a potential return.
He retired in April due to the demands of travel but might call some regular-season games to prepare.
A rotation of announcers has filled in since his retirement, including Emmanuel Berbari and Rickie Ricardo.
Sterling made a brief return to the booth this week alongside longtime partner Suzyn Waldman.
The Yankees have not won a World Series since 2009, a title Sterling would love to call again.
