Overview
- Suffolk County Homicide Squad arrested John Pilaccio, 43, of 59 Palm Street in Lindenhurst, in the death of CVS employee Edeedson Cine, 23.
- The stabbing occurred around 6:50 p.m. on Dec. 25 inside the CVS at 20 East Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst, and the assailant initially fled on foot.
- Police said Pilaccio is charged with second-degree murder, is being held at the Third Precinct, and is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip.
- Investigators had identified a person of interest using witness accounts and exterior video while internal store footage from CVS was delayed, then later provided to detectives.
- CVS said it was devastated by the killing and is offering counseling to employees, as police continue to seek tips at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
