John Logan to Adapt Cormac McCarthy's 'Blood Meridian' for New Regency

The acclaimed screenwriter takes on one of the most challenging novels to adapt, with previous attempts by notable directors failing.

John Logan, known for his work on 'Skyfall' and 'Gladiator', has been chosen to adapt the notoriously difficult 'Blood Meridian'.
The adaptation will be directed by John Hillcoat, with Cormac McCarthy's son, John Francis McCarthy, serving as an executive producer.
Previous attempts to adapt the novel have included efforts by Ridley Scott, Tommy Lee Jones, and others, all of which did not come to fruition.
'Blood Meridian', set in the 1850s along the Texas-Mexico border, is considered one of the greatest and most brutal Western novels.
This new adaptation by New Regency aims to finally bring McCarthy’s dark masterpiece to the big screen after years of anticipation.
