John Gibbons to Join New York Mets as Bench Coach

Former Blue Jays Manager Brings Wealth of Experience to Rookie Manager Carlos Mendoza's Staff

John Gibbons, former manager of the Toronto Blue Jays, is set to join the New York Mets as a bench coach, bringing with him 13 seasons of managerial experience.
Gibbons, who began his professional career with the Mets in 1980, led the Blue Jays to the American League Championship Series in 2015 and 2016.
Joining Gibbons in the coaching staff are Antoan Richardson as first-base coach and Mike Sarbaugh at third base.
Jeremy Hefner will continue as the pitching coach, while Eric Chavez and Jeremy Barnes will serve as co-hitting coaches.
The Mets are still looking to fill the roles of first-base coach and bullpen coach.
