John Boyega to Star in 'The Book of Eli' Prequel Series

John Boyega is set to star in and executive produce a TV prequel series to the 2010 post-apocalyptic action film, The Book of Eli, originally starring Denzel Washington.
The series is being developed by the original film's writer, Gary Whitta, and directors, the Hughes brothers.
The prequel is set 30 years prior to the events of the film, around the time of the nuclear event or its immediate aftermath.
The series is currently being shopped to select premium buyers, with Alcon Entertainment as the studio behind the project.
Boyega will play a younger version of Washington's character, Eli, a nomad who protects a sacred book crucial to humanity's survival in a post-apocalyptic America.
