Joey Votto Joins Buffalo Bisons for Triple-A Debut

The former NL MVP and six-time All-Star is set to play for Toronto's affiliate after a series of injuries.

Votto, 40, signed a minor-league deal with Toronto in March after 17 seasons with the Cincinnati Reds.
He missed the start of the season due to an ankle injury sustained during spring training.
Votto has been on a rehab assignment, playing in Class A Dunedin before moving to Triple-A Buffalo.
He is scheduled to start in the series opener against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The Reds will visit Toronto in August, potentially setting up a reunion with his former team.
