Overview

  • Imaging revealed a right knee contusion with no fractures or ligament tears after Loperfido was struck by a 98.2 mph fastball in the sixth inning of Tuesday’s game.
  • Loperfido collapsed at Coors Field when Rockies reliever Angel Chivilli’s pitch hit the outside of his right knee.
  • Since his July 6 call-up he has slashed .389/.436/.542 over 72 at-bats with three homers, 10 RBI, 10 runs, four walks and a steal.
  • Remaining off the injured list preserves Toronto’s bench depth and outfield rotation behind starters George Springer, Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
  • The Blue Jays enter their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 66-48 record and a three-game lead in the AL East.
