Joe Wright and Butterworth Brothers to Helm Paramount+ Series 'The Department'

Replacing George Clooney, Wright directs the espionage thriller with the Butterworths writing, set for a premiere later this year.

Joe Wright is set to direct and executive produce the upcoming Paramount+ series 'The Department', replacing George Clooney.
The series, based on the French espionage political thriller 'Le Bureau', is a collaboration between Smokehouse Pictures, MTV Entertainment Studios, and 101 Studios.
Jez and John-Henry Butterworth will executive produce and write all 10 episodes of the series.
'The Department' will premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime later this year, with Michael Fassbender reported to be in talks to star.
The series focuses on the daily life and missions of agents within France’s principal external security service, the 'Bureau of Legends'.
