Overview

  • The S4 aircraft flew from Marina to Monterey, covering about 10 nautical miles in 12 minutes with five minutes in a holding pattern for air traffic spacing.
  • Joby’s flight adhered to FAA air traffic control protocols and successfully sequenced with other aircraft in controlled airspace around Monterey Airport.
  • The company has begun final assembly of its Type Inspection Authorization aircraft and plans FAA-piloted flight testing early next year.
  • Joby is scaling up manufacturing, pursuing strategic airline partnerships and moving forward with its planned acquisition of Blade Air Mobility’s passenger business.
  • After certification, Joby intends to launch domestic service in Los Angeles and New York City and begin operations in Dubai in early 2026.
