Overview

  • Joby Aviation delivered its first production eVTOL aircraft to Dubai on June 30 and immediately commenced piloted in-market flights as part of its commercial readiness program.
  • The company entered the FAA’s Type Inspection Authorization process, in which Federal Aviation Administration pilots will directly test the aircraft before granting certification.
  • Under a six-year exclusive operating agreement with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, Joby will run air taxi services from four planned vertiports, including Dubai International Airport and Palm Jumeirah.
  • Construction is underway at DXB, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and Downtown Dubai to integrate the eVTOL network into the city’s transport infrastructure for an early-2026 service debut.
  • Backed by Toyota investment and US Air Force testing, Joby’s six-rotor, five-seat eVTOL can reach 200 mph, fly 150 miles per charge and operate at noise levels 100 times lower than conventional aircraft.
