Overview

  • JNU administration will conduct its own entrance test for PhD programs in Korean and Cinema Studies not covered by UGC-NET.
  • All other doctoral admissions will continue to rely on National Eligibility Test scores, excluding June 2025 NET candidates from the current cycle.
  • Students’ Union members have been on an indefinite hunger strike since last Thursday demanding the return of the in-house exam across all PhD programs.
  • Teachers’ Association leaders labeled the upcoming semester’s schedule “messy and illogical” and challenged the statistical basis of merging NET percentiles with viva-voce marks.
  • A mass-faculty delegation is scheduled to approach Vice-Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit on July 4 seeking corrective measures on admissions and exam policies.
