Overview
- The first regional meeting took place in Junín on Tuesday, September 8 with eight political organizations taking part in a two-hour debate at the Centro de Convenciones Garden Club.
- Debates follow a four-block structure covering social issues, economic proposals, regional vision and answers to citizen questions as explained by Voto Informado facilitator Michael Chuchón.
- The JNE will stream and broadcast the cycle on regional open TV, its JNE Media YouTube channel, Movistar channel 552 and the Voto Informado platform to maximize voter access.
- Organizers collected roughly 5,000 citizen questions nationwide and will select two for the citizen-question block in municipal debates; a procedural draw to set candidate pairings is scheduled for September 11.
- The regional calendar continues through September with multiple single- and two-day events and concludes with Lima’s split mayoral debates on September 21 and 22 at the Biblioteca Nacional’s Mario Vargas Llosa auditorium.
