JMEV Launches Easy 3 in Argentina at $18,900, Now the Country’s Cheapest EV

A government quota waiving the 35% extrazone tariff for 50,000 electrified vehicles enables the low launch price.

Overview

  • JMEV, represented by Grupo Antelo, debuts the Easy 3 compact hatchback in Argentina and will raffle a unit at Casa FOA on November 2.
  • The launch price is US$18,900, with reservations open for the first 100 units via a US$500 deposit and first deliveries expected in mid-November.
  • Power comes from a 50 kW (68 hp), 125 Nm front motor paired with a 30.24 kWh liquid‑cooled battery that claims 330 km of range under the CLTC cycle.
  • Reported features include a 10.1‑inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, electronic stability control, two front airbags, rear parking sensors and a 360° camera.
  • Charging is quoted at up to 80% in 6 hours on AC or about 40 minutes from 20% to 80% on DC, and the vehicle carries a 3‑year/100,000 km warranty with the battery covered for 8 years/120,000 km.
