Overview

  • In a written assembly reply, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the JKCCC has asked the NIA to permit ground and technical surveys so work can resume.
  • The planned cable car will run from near Yatri Niwas in Pahalgam to Baisaran with a total length of 1.4 km.
  • Ronmas India Pvt. Ltd. holds the execution contract under a signed agreement but awaits access for topographical and geotechnical studies.
  • Officials estimate a cost of Rs 100–120 crore over 9.13 hectares of forest land, with construction expected to take about 18 months once clearances are issued.
  • Site activity remains halted as the NIA investigates the April 22 attack that killed 26 people, and the government is exploring a ski drag lift at Aru Valley to support winter tourism.
