Overview
- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the Unified Headquarters meeting at Raj Bhavan, Srinagar, with top Army, police, intelligence, CAPF and civil officials including Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, DGP Nalin Prabhat and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo.
- Sinha told officials the war against terrorism is not over and directed that kinetic and non-kinetic operations continue with a whole-of-government approach against radicalisation and the drug menace.
- After the review, authorities approved reopening 12 destinations shut after the April Pahalgam attack, with seven in Kashmir and five in Jammu set to open from September 29, including Aru Valley and Kaman Post in the Valley, and Dagan Top and Shiv Cave in Jammu.
- Security forces were engaged in an ongoing encounter at Seoj Dhar on the Doda-Udhampur boundary, with joint SOG-JKP and Army teams on the ground and one soldier reported injured, according to officials.
